Our version of Genmaicha takes a traditional Japanese Genmaicha and added ceremonial Matcha powder to it. This kept the amazing toasty, sweet flavor of Genmaicha and the Matcha added a third element to the taste - creaminess. This creaminess really puts this tea over the top.
We feel this tea is so good that it is perfect for the non tea drinker. The amount of flavors that are in our Genmaicha Matcha will convert the most anti-tea drinker into a full blown tea junkie.
And to add icing on the cake, Matcha is actually one of the healthiest things you can drink. To make Matcha, they take the finest Tencha leaves (Japanese green tea) and grind them into a fine dust. The result is you actually drink the tea leaves, which make the antioxidant level 10x the normal cup of tea.
Ingredients: Japanese Bancha, Toasted Rice and Ceremonial Matcha •
Why it’s Special:
** Toasted rice and Bancha (Japanese Green Tea) make a perfect pairing
** The lemony Bancha helps to sweeten the rice while the nutty flavor of the rice helps offset the grassy flavor of the tea
** We mix in ceremonial grade Matcha to add creaminess and a depth of flavor not found usually in other Genmaichas
** Originally a peasants drink, but recently a favorite of the urban chic in Japan
** Matcha is ground up tea leaves, giving it 10 times the antioxidants as regular Green Tea
What to be Careful of:
** The color of the liquor is an almost neon green, which is due to the Matcha
** Do not oversteep this tea or the Matcha flavor will overpower the rest of the tea
** Do not drink with milk
** Green Tea Purists may not like the addition of Matcha and toasted rice
** If you do not like popped rice you will not enjoy this tea
